At Silverwood Editorial & Communications, my job is to help make your content better and make your processes easier. I can help you organize, define, and clarify content, making it focused and distinct. Together we’ll create submission-ready manuscript, print-ready proofs, and audience-focused content. I provide extensive services for more than 20 clients, with a goal to provide deliverables on time and on spec.
At age 9 I produced my first book using crayons, construction paper, and twine—the letters of the alphabet illustrated with colorful pictures (“A is for apple”) for my younger brother’s use. A voracious reader and creative writer during my teenage years, I knew I wanted to work with books and language when I grew up. I achieved a master’s degree in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English, with an emphasis in Education, from Juniata College.
I worked in book and journal production and editing for 8 years at Wolters Kluwer, an international educational publisher. My reliability, technical skill, attention to detail, and ability to manage teams were recognized with several awards, including Health Professions Revisions of the Year in 2012, 2009, and 2007; Health Professions Product Developer of the Year in 2009; and Health Professions Product of the Year in 2009.
As a member of the American Copy Editors Society and the American Medical Writers Association, I stay current with industry trends, connect to and build relationships with other professionals, and continuously update my learning and knowledge so that I can better help you achieve your goals.
I currently reside just outside Philadelphia, PA. When I’m not working I enjoy walks and hikes with my trusty sidekick Darcy, reading for my two book clubs, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
